What Happened to Monday

What Happened to Monday is by far one of my favorite films to watch. I rate this film five stars. This film does not only keep one in suspense but makes us question things like overpopulation, gender roles, and social norm problems that are going on, not just in the film but in real life. Some of the content in this film is not adequate for young viewer because of sex scenes and the use of excessive foul language. I personally enjoy that the producer didn't sensor these things out because it just makes it much more realistic.
There are seven sisters who take on the identity of Karen Settman. They only use this persona outside of their home. The government allows one child per family and they must hide themselves for that reason. Ironically their prison is not their small home but the outside world. The protagonist, Karen Settman, is the cancer of the seven girls dreamed and aspirations. They don’t like living this way, but they have no choice.  The films ending was surprising and I was not expecting it. I think that's why I enjoyed it more.

Overall this film is ridiculous, I’ve watched it four times and I never get tired of it. The film just serves as a message that many should analyze and think about. I am very privileged to live in the world I do and to be able to be myself. I could not imagine myself in an oppressed world where I must fake being someone I am not. Makes me appreciate myself and the people around me more. These girls didn’t have the freedom to be themselves, something we take for granted. For Example, they couldn't fall in love because of their big secret. Love is something that most humans will experience in their life. For some people is the highlight of their life. The foundation of who they will be. And they can't even think of falling in love because that would endanger their lives. I encourage you watch this film and I am sure you will enjoy every second of it. I do want to say it's not a fairytale ending, and some things will break your heart so be prepared.
Jack and Jill

I rate this film a zero. I absolutely hated watching it. Adam Sandler plays two roles in “Jack and Jill,” he is both Jack and Jill. Personally, I think that this comedy film is not comedic at all. I believe it's just an excuse to use drag. In the film, Jack is a successful ad executive in Los Angeles, California (he was the bright and popular). Jack is married and his advertising firm produces commercial featuring celebrities. On the other hand, Jill lives in the Bronx in her parents' home with her pet Cockatoo. Their parents have passed away, so she lives by herself. Jill is his crazy, loud and insecure twin sister. Their relationship with one another is bumpy and they don't really get along most of the time. Jill is socially awkward and was clingy towards her brother Jack because of it.  This film takes place during Thanksgiving on her annual visit.
Sandler (Jack), plays the nice guy who takes care of his attention seeking sisterQuite honestly that Jack tried to get her on a first date was a sweet thought. He took it way too far and ended up hurting her. I understand he was worried for her because she's 30-year-old women who live in New York and has never had a date, used a computer or even tried Mexican food to say the least.  This was just frustrating because it seemed like at one-point jack was not doing it for her but for him so he could get rid of her.
To conclude, I was not a fan of the overdramatic acting; mostly Jills part. It was just annoying and made me stress. I get that it's supposed to be a comedy, but I've watched more of Sandler's films and I had higher expectations for this film. If they were to make the twin less dramatically annoying, I may have enjoyed it more.
